HEPA Filter and Anti-Bacterial Pre-Filter

Activated Carbon and Sanitizer

Odors and gaseous toxins are addressed with the Activated Carbon layer and a Programmable Sanitizer. While the Activated Carbon works by passively adsorbing gases and toxins that pass through it, the Sanitizer actively seeks and destroys these compounds by emitting ozone molecules which destroy odor-causing compounds, gaseous toxins, and living microorganisms. Several settings, including the option to completely disengage the Sanitizer, assures that ozone levels are no higher than is necessary to combat your air quality issues and makes it perfect for that occasional cleaning power boost. When the Sanitizer setting is turned off, absolutely no ozone is released.

Ionizer

An Ionizer releases negative ions which attract particles to one another, making them larger and more easily trapped by the filter and heavy enough to fall out of suspension, thus less likely to be inhaled.

UV Lamp

A second layer of protection against bacteria, viruses, and mold is the UV Germicidal Lamp incorporated into the XJ-3000C. This works to destroy the DNA of microorganisms which pass under it and render them incapable of reproducing and thus multiplying.
